5th year of Newport News One City Marathon brings 5th race.
BayPort Credit Union has joined the Newport News One City Marathon team as sponsor of the new half marathon race. The BayPort Credit Union One City Half Marathon debuts at the 2019 event and complements the other races, which include the marathon, marathon relay, 8K Run/Walk, and Nautical Mile Kids Fun Run. In addition to sponsoring the half marathon, BayPort will host pre-race popup community events geared toward fitness and financial wellness in months leading up to marathon weekend.

The addition of a half marathon race comes at the request of runners. Registration is open for all races.
About the Newport News One City Marathon
Presented by Newport News Shipbuilding, the fifth annual Newport News One City Marathon takes place Sunday, March 3, 2019. The marathon course runs the entire 26-mile length of the city, with Newport News Park as the setting for the start of the race and the Victory Arch in downtown serving as the finish line. Along the way, the certified course takes runners past various cultural amenities, educational institutions, businesses, and neighborhoods. The marathon, which also offers a relay option, culminates at a One City, One Celebration event at Victory Landing Park as runners race through the finish line. In addition to the marathon, there is also an 8K Run/Walk and a Nautical Mile Kids Fun Run, and NEW for 2019 is a much requested half marathon race. Marathon weekend (March 1-3, 2019) also includes a Women’s Forum, a Health and Wellness Expo and other community-focused events.
