This year, the Accelerating Change Together (ACT) Grant focuses on education & workforce development.
A community partnership has been established to fund a three-year, $500,000 transformational grant called Accelerating Change Together (ACT). The grant aims to invest in the Hampton Roads nonprofit community, build upon education, and develop a skilled workforce that benefits the nation.
The Newport News Education Foundation has been awarded the $500,000 Accelerating Change Together (ACT) Grant to support the Newport News Public Schools (NNPS) New Teacher Institute (NTI) program. The three-year, step-down grant will provide the funding necessary for NTI to answer the regional call to build a workforce pipeline to expand its new first—and second-year teacher programs.
The inaugural year’s shared focus on Education & Workforce Development supports the Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) addition of a new two-year, half-day Advanced Technology Center (ATC) Renewable Energy Technologies program.
Recognizing each other’s unwavering commitment to the community, the ACT Grant is an extension of the companies’ existing charitable giving.
